SUDIE MAE SMITH - Sudie Mae Menees Smith, age 102, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 16, 2010, at Homeplace of Columbus. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Butler officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Brooksville City Cemetery in Brooksville, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born October 24, 1908, in Brooksville, MS to the late Barney C. and Minnie Curtis Menees. She was a graduate of Brooksville High School and Draughon's Business College in Memphis, TN. and retired from Robinson Truck Line after 32 years. Mrs. Smith volunteered at Baptist Memorial Hospital from 1984 - 2003 and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Cleveland Smith. Survivors include her son, Grover (Nancy) Smith of Tyler, TX, daughters, Margaret (Billy) Blair of Caledonia, MS, and Martha (Bobby) Cooper of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Terri (Jerlen) Mason of Tyler, TX, Trecia (Lowell) Johnson of Macogdoches, TX, Amy (Vince) Crews of Wiggins, MS, Tres (Vicki) Smith of Tyler, TX, David (Misty) Blair of Blue Spings, MS, and Wesley Blair of Caledonia, MS, and 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tres Smith, Lowell Johnson, Jerlen Mason, David Blair, Wesley Blair, and Bennie Cooper. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
