Mrs. Thelma Katherine Geer, age 92, died Saturday, March 22, 2013, at her home in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with her son-in-law, Rev. Lynn Gibson, officiating. Mrs. Geer was born September 12, 1920 to the late George Luck and Lenora White Sumner in East St. Louis, IL. She grew up in Okolona, MS and has lived in Columbus over 70 years. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. She retired in 1985 from American Bosch after 30 years of employment. She then worked for several years in the After-Hours program at St. Marys Catholic School. She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter Georgia Anne Geer and her husband James Lester Geer. She is survived by her sons George Geer and Ronnie Geer, both of Columbus and her daughters Pam Gibson (Lynn) of Ethelsville, AL and Cathy Wright (Rodney) of Columbus. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children Pallbearers will be Josh Geer, Todd Gibson, Toby Rickert, Trey Poole, Richard Land, Bradley Land and Jackson Land.
