Mary Lee Jones Peaks Tierman, 94 ,of Gulfport, MS , formerly of Columbus, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Her funeral service will be Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Whitney officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens, in Columbus, MS Mrs. Tierman was born on Sunday, January 24, 1915, in Aberdeen, MS to the late Robert Lee and Mattie Mason Jones. She was a founding member of Grace Baptist Church. She retired from Seminole Manufacturing after 42 years of employment. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands Clovis Wesley Peaks and Dr. Earl C. Tierman, brothers Robert Lee Jones, Jr. and Curtis Jones and sisters Mabel Jones Franks and Mary Jones Murphy. Mrs. Tierman is survived by her son Robert Wesley(Bob) Peaks and his wife Betty Collins Peaks of Gulfport, sister Elizabeth Jones Wilkins of Columbus, grandson Robert Wesley(Chip) Peaks, Jr. and his wife Helen Fuentes Peaks, granddaughter Nancilee Peaks Alexander and great grandchildren Elizabeth Alden Alexander, Kent Barrier Alexander and Hope Christine Peaks. Pallbearers will be Bill King, Billy Price, Danny Williams, Kent Alexander, Michael Johnson and Harold Barton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Lindauer, William Wilkins, Jr. and Dr. Doyle Sumrall.
