Ruth Perkerson Ebersole, age 85, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at Trinity Place Personal Care in Columbus, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Shawn Parker and Rev. Ron McDougald officiating. Internment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Monday, March 29, 2010 from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM. Mrs. Ebersole was born on Tuesday, December 23, 1924 in Brooksville, MS to the late R. H. and Etta Mae Dailey Richardson. She graduated from high school in Brooksville and attended Mississippi State College for Women . She then worked for Sears Roebuck for many years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. In December , 1959, she and her late husband, John F. Perkerson, Jr., started the family business Military Hardware, working with Mr. John , who died in July, 1976 and then with her son and daughter-in-law full time until she retired in 1985. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother Hazel W. Richardson, her husbands Lewis Hilliard, John F. Perkerson, Jr., and J. W. "Bud" Ebersole and brothers David Richardson and R. H. Richardson, Jr. Mrs. Ebersole is survived by her son Mike A. Perkerson (Carol), daughter Patty P. Davis (Ken), all of Columbus; her sister Louise R. McClellan (Cecil), Hattiesburg, Ms and brother Ray Richardson (Terri) , Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by five grandchildren Brad Perkerson (Renee), Angie Perrigin ( Mike), Carrie Lepicier (Andrew) , Wesley Davis and Debbie Davis and six great grandchildren, all of Columbus. The Pallbearers will be Everette Pullen, Sanford Pullen, Cecil McClellan, Andrew Lepicier, Mike Perrigin and Donnell Lloyd. Mrs. Ruth's family extends special thanks to her friends and caregivers at Trinity Personal Care and Unity Hospice , Starkville, Ms. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Ruth's memory to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 829, Columbus, MS 39703 or Trinity Place Sunday Fund, 250 Airline Rd. Columbus, MS 39702 .
