Mary Olive White Culberson, age 89, of Columbus, Miss., died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus, Miss. Visitaion will be held at East End Baptist Church, Monday, September 29, 2008, beginning at 9:30am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at East End, with Rev. Albert Wilkinson and Rev. Gary Walker officiating. Internment will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia , Ms at 4:00pm. The daughter of the late Virgil Slokum and Ethel Pearl Smith White, Mrs. Culberson was born April 19, 1919 in Noxapater, Ms. She was employed by American Bosch for 19 years and had been a member of East End Baptist Church since 1956. She was a member of the Winsome Sunday School Class , the WMU and The Seniors Group at her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Culberson, her sister Frances Tiedt and grandsons James Anthony and Samuel Lewis Culberson. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Culberson Faulkner (Dempsey)of Columbus , her son James Virgil Culberson (Charlotte) of Noxapater, Miss., her brother-In-Law- A. W. Tiedt of Houston, Texas and special friend Mary L. Smith of Columbus. She is also survived by her grandchildren Crystal Childress ( Chris), Michael James Soule(Kelly), Michelle Lynn Garcia ( Joe) and Christopher John Davis (Natalie) and her great grandchildren Katy and Angus Soule, George and Drew Childress, Amber Clark, Novalen Garcia, Morgan and Sterling Davis, and Tucker Cisco. Pallbearers will be John Hillhouse, Sr., John Hillhouse, Jr., Earnest Smith, carey Dodson, Andy Hubbard, and Jack Gorman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff at Trinity Healthcare, Travis Berry, Bob Jaudon, Floyd Land, Sandra Boone, the Winsome Sunday School CLass, Samilea Allen WMU and Senior Citizens Choir at East End.
