Mrs. Jessie Cunningham Guin, 82, of Columbus died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital " Golden Triangle. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Her funeral will be Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Taylor and Pastor Diane Mealer officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, Ms. The daughter of the late Earlie and Cynthia Cantrell Cunningham, Mrs. Guin was born February 18, 1929 in Beaverton, AL. She had been a resident of Columbus and Lowndes County since 1954. She retired in 1991 from American Bosch/United Technologies after 35 years of employment. She was a member of Bread of Life fellowship Church in Columbus. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James Wiley Guin, who died in 1984, her son-in-law Robert Stockman and two sisters Johnnie Merchant and Ruby Guin. She is survived by her daughter Oma G. Stockman and her brother Prentice Cunningham, both of Columbus, granddaughters Shannon Williams of Columbus and Amy Wright (Wallace) of Cleveland, TN, great grandsons Chris Smith (Tifanie) of Milton, FL, James Smith (Tiffany) and Avery Williams, all of Columbus, and great-great grandchildren Sophia Smith, Preston Smith and Alex Buse. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Guin, Brad Williams, James Williams, Johnny Taylor, Barry Mealer and Tim Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Min Kim, Dr. Christopher Lebrun, Dr. Michael J. Boland, Jr. and members of Bread of Life Fellowship Church. Memorials may be made to Bread of Life Fellowship Church, 100 Old New Hope Rd., Columbus, Ms 39702.
