Jack Tillman Christopher, age 78, passed away Wednesday, November 03, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. Services will be held Saturday, November 06, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Chaplain Steve Brown and Rev. Terrell Maynard will officiate the service, with a military funeral honors ceremony following at the church cemetery. Jack was born on Tuesday, May 24, 1932, in Lowndes County, MS, to the late Ben and Annie Alexander Christopher. He graduated in 1950 from New Hope High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and retired after 30 years of service with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After serving his country, Jack worked at Beloit for 8 ½ years, Dyncorp for 4 years, and was the co-owner of Chiefs Small Engine repair for 8 years. He was a member of Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Lions Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Ginger and Buddy Yeatman. Survivors include: His wife: Joan Crawford Christopher, Columbus, MS One Son: Tony Christopher (Paula), Anniston, AL One Sister: Margaret Richardson (Jim), Columbus, MS One Brother: Robert Christopher (Vesta), Burkburnett, TX Four Grandchildren: Candy Christopher Brown (Cass) Amanda Christopher Haynes Cayla Christopher Jacklyn Christopher Soon-to-be Great Grandchild: Catch Wesley Brown . The Pallbearers will be: The Columbus Air Force Base Honor Guard The Honorary Pallbearers will be Cass Brown, Lenny Ring, Chris Hardin, Bud Yeatman, Scott Hardin, Jace Hardin, Christopher Rhett, Mark Evans, Mark Ward, Greg Cohen, Alex Gilliam, Stephen Hicks, Bobby Jones, Bill Franks, David Franks, Eunice Pruitt, Billy Joe Franks, Selvyn Ellis, Charles Fondren, Jessie Callender, Howard & Linda Jenkins, Billy & Jeanette West, Doug & Yvonne Hill, Tom & Ann Holder, Buddy & Pat Barksdale, Walker & Pat Kelley, Don & Carol Emerey, and Travis & Rhealee Luttrell. Also to include all military buddies, Beloit & Dyncorp friends, and Lion's Club members.
