Meana, Ak - David W. Fant was born on February 15, 1960 to the late Durell Alfred Fant and Robbie Stripling Fant. He was a member of the Church of Christ and an Archeologist for the U.S. Forest Service. He was a 1978 graduate of East Lowndes Academy, a graduate of MSU, and received his masters degree from the University of Mississippi. Funeral services will be Friday May 5, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Chapel with Matt Warren and Rev. J.W. Estes officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 until service time at Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include his Mother, Robbie "Bobbie" Stripling Fant of Columbus; Sisters, Diane F. Warren (Alvis) of West Point and Missy McCoy (Jonathan) of Columbus; Brother, Kenny Fant of Tulsa, Ok; and Several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Richard Fant, Richard Stripling, Jonathan McCoy, Alvis Warren, Rudolph Stripling, and James Stripling. Honorary Pallbearers will be U.S. Forest Service in Oxford, Ms and Meana, Ark.
