Shelby Jean Junkin Sloan, age 75, died June 19, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital/GT. Graveside Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, June 22, 1938 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating. Interment to follow with Memorial Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Sloan was born March 21, 2013 in Kennedy, AL to the late Johnie M. and Mattie Lou Howard Junkin. She lived most of her life in Columbus, MS and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mozell Junkin Shackleford Orr and brother, Marshall Eugene Junkin. Survivors include her son, Richard Sean Junkin (LeChandra Boles) of Columbus, MS; brother, Herbert Junkin (Maxine) of Columbus, MS; sister Mavis Harris of Steens, MS; 2 grandchildren, Cameron and Melia Junkin and a number of nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbears will be Sr. Mens Sunday School Class of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
