Mary Catherine Wooten Collins, age 67, died at her residence in Vernon, Al Wednesday afternoon, December 19, 2007. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday , December 22, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. at Memorial. Her funeral will be held Sunday, December 23 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev James Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The daughter of the late David and Francis Perrigan Wooten, she was born March 29, 1940 in Lowndes County, Ms. She was employed as a seamtress at Seminole Manufacturing and Blue Bell. She was a member of Bread of Life Fellowship Church and also attended Living Faith Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jerry Mackum. Mrs. Collins in survived by her husband, Ernest Eugene Collins and son Clifford Eugene Collins, both of Vernon, Al. She is also survived by 5 sisters Barbara Jean Butler (William), Margaret Morris, both of Millport; Shirley Honnoll (Tommy) of Shannon, Ms; Malinda Leber of Sulligent, Al; Monnie McCoy( Rev. Herbert ), Judy White (Philip) , both of Columbus; and brothers David(Buddy) Wooten, Columbus and James Wooten(Mary Ray), Vernon, Al; 3 grandchildren, Raymond, Sara Jean and Jerry Thomas Mackum and 2 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Frankie Pugh, Taylor Pugh, Arthur Pugh, Tommy Pugh, Bubba Shanks and David Morris. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, Ms 39213.
