Barbara Jean Wooten Butler, age 67, of Vernon, AL died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at her home in Vernon. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. The daughter of the late David and Frances Perrigan Wooten, she was born February 17, 1944 in Lowndes County, MS. She was employed at P.D. Berry Dairy in Fayette, AL for 40 years. She attended United Ministries church in Steens. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters Mary Catherine Collins and Margaret Morris and one brother David Buddy Wooten. She is survived by her husband William L. Butler, Jr. of Vernon, her son William D. Butler (Heather) of Douglas, AL and her daughters Betty Delk (Glenn) of Columbus, Elaine Perrigan of Ozark, AL and Rose Ann Turner of Vernon. She is also survived by her brother James Wooten (Mary Ray) of Vernon, and her sisters Shirley Honnoll (Tommy) of Shannon, MS, Malinda Leber of Sulligent, AL, Monnie McCoy (Herbert) and Judy White (Philip), all of Columbus and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Arthur Pugh, Frankie Pugh, Scott Pugh, Cliff Collins and Wilburn Chambers. Memorials may be made to United Ministries, P.O. Box 8847, Columbus, MS 39705.
