SHIRLEY NEWSOM Shirley Mae Newsom age 76 died Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus. Services will be held Friday, October 07, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Douglas officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Mrs. Newsom was born on Sunday, January 27, 1935 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Roy and Ila Orr Johnson. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and the retired owner and operator of the Army-Navy Store in Columbus. She was a family oriented person, a dedicated military wife, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
