DR. MARTIN D. BUDDY LIVINGSTON Dr. Martin D. Buddy Livingston, born August 24, 1937 passed away July 13, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Beloved husband of 53 years to his high school sweetheart, Judith Peaton Livingston and father to Mark of Brandon, MS, Daughter, Lee Woods (Woody) of Houston, TX, and Eric (Kristin) of Dallas, NC. Doc will be remembered for his quick smile and joy of life. He was an admired dentist and avid golfer. Alumnus of Mississippi State University and Emory University Dental School, he began his career as Captain in the US Air Force in Altus, OK. Upon returning to Columbus, MS, he enjoyed a 36 year dental career caring for numerous wonderful patients from whom he received great satisfaction in his service to others. Doc was a member of First Baptist Church where he participated in the Gatewood Sunday school class and was a faithful Prayer Warrior. He was a past member of Exchange Club and Rotary Club. It is the familys wish that when remembering Doc: hug someone close to you, introduce yourself to a stranger, tell a joke, or hit some golf balls and enjoy Gods beautiful creation of nature. In doing so, Doc will be honored and celebrated, for this is the way in which he lived. Doc was a devoted grandfather and will be affectionately remembered by his five grandchildren Cody and Faith Livingston, Ethan Woods, Jackson and Berkley Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert L. and Polly S. Livingston. Pallbearers will be William Robertson, Mark Livingston, Dr. Eric Livingston, Earl Woody Woods, Cody Livingston, and Ethan Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mike Batson, Bob Proffitt, Dr. Perrin Smith, Dr. James Gatewood, Dr. Ben Ogletree, Jack Carr, Frank Griffin, Joe Heatherly, Bobby Redwood, Bob Reynolds, Lynn Weeks, Dr. Charles Dahlke, Dr. Bill Mullendore, Dr. Eric Beardslee, Dr. Joe Elsberry, Jim Newton, Justin Kenney and members of the Gatewood Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Friendship Cemetery.
