JAMES B. BROWN James Bryant Brown age 85 died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus MS. Services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Anne Russell Bradley officiating, burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery . Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 10:00 AM until service time. Mr. Brown was born on Saturday, September 22, 1923 in Leflore County, MS to the late Albert Sidney and Stella Johnson Brown. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Stuckenschneider Sunday School Class. He was a retired assistant Fire Chief for the Columbus Fire Department, and a U. S. Army Air Corp. veteran, having served in WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Brown, his brothers, W.L. and Carl Brown and his sister Edna Brown Shelnutt. Survivors include: His Wife-Juanita Harrison Brown of Steens MS Sister: Vera Brown Ritchings (William), of Cresent City, FL And a number of nieces and nephews. The Pallbearers will be: Ben Thomas, Kenneth Stokes, Frank Brown, Russell Caldwell, Jack McGee, and Jay Jordan The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joe Askew, The Stuckenschneider Sunday School Class, and Past & Present Employees Of Columbus Fire Dept. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donors favorite charity.
