Robert Lee Ford, Jr., 84, of Columbus died Thursday, April 13, 2011 in Starkville at the home of his daughter Nancy Ford Willcutt. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Friday morning at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Tony Proctor officiating. Mr. Ford was born February 10, 1927 in Anniston, AL to Robert Lee and Lillian Kirkland Ford. He graduated from S. D. Lee High School and Mississippi State University. For more than 25 years Mr. Ford worked for Searcy and Rice Insurance Agency as the office manager. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Ford enjoyed hunting, was an avid golfer and a devoted Mississippi State Bulldog Fan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Louise Weezie Ford, his son Robert Bob Lee Ford, III and his brother Bill Ford. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Nancy Ford and Sammy Willcutt of Starkville, his daughter-in-law Tina Ford Box of Madison, Ms and his sister Gladys Wilson of Tupelo. He is also survived by four grandchildren whom he cherished Wendy Thoms, Ben Ford, and Julie Ford, all of Madison and Samantha Willcutt of Willmington, NC., two great grandsons whom he also cherished Jack and Sam Thoms of Madison, MS and his sister-in-law Virginia Ford of Ethelsville, AL. Pallbearers will be Frank Griffin, Bobby Redwood, Bill Brooks, Bob Wilson, John Ford and Billy Ford. Memorials my be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
