Benjamin W. Robinson Benjamin "Ben" W. Robinson age 74, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, GT in Columbus, MS. Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 15, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus, MS, with Dr. Albert Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Robinson was born to the late Thomas Jessie Robinson and Susie Swenson Robinson of Clay County, MS on November 10, 1937. He attended school at Griffen, MS and his senior year at West Point High School. He got his Bachelor of Science Degree, College of Business and Industry at Mississippi State University in 1977. He worked at Babcock and Wilcox a McDermott Company for 43 years, from 1956 to 1999 when he retired. He was an avid fisherman and a member of MS Tri-Cities Bowling Association, where he won many trophies. He also liked working in his garden and yard as well as traveling in his motor home with his wife Freddie for many years. Mr. Robinson was a member of East End Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lucille Robinson and one brother, Thomas Robinson. He leaves behind his wife Freddie Robinson of Columbus, MS; one sister, Elizabeth Cliett of Richmond, VA; 2 step sons Billy Carl (Sylvia) Eastman and Jerry Wayne (Carolyn) Eastman both of Sulligent, AL; three step grandchildren, Michelle Owens, Michael Eastman and Tammy Flynn; nine great grandchildren; 2 nieces, Rose Logan of Virginia and Becky Burleson of Tupelo, MS; 1 nephew, Tommy Robinson of Atlanta, GA and a great number of relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Tommy Robinson, Jerry Stewart, Jimmy Burleson, Lynn Davis, Bob Sergent and Michael Eastman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Duckworth, Dr. Susan Taylor, Donald Kassner, friends from East End Baptist Church and doctors and nurses from Vineyard Court Nursing Home.
