Robert Hairston Bob Halbert, Jr. Age 82 died October 20, 2007 at Aurora Australis Lodge in Columbus, MS Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Sammy Crawford Officiating burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM Mr. Halbert was born in Columbus on December 17, 1924 to the late Robert Hairston and Carine Ellis Halbert Sr. He served in the Army Air Corp. for 42 months during WWII. He was a renown gemologist for 50 years, he worked in Little Rock AR, where he managed a store for Reid-Vining and Greenville MS where he managed a store for Farnsworth.
