T.A. Caldwell

Therron Albert "T. A." Caldwell, age 89, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 29, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Williams and Rev. Josh Daffern officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Caldwell was born October 11, 1922, in Boliver County, MS, to the late Albert and Flora Watkins Caldwell. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Mr. Caldwell was an active member and deacon of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, member of Bud Lambert's Sunday School Class, and a small group leader. He was a partner for many years in Caldwell and Massey Construction and was owner and operator of Caldwell & Sons Construction Company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by sister, Earsel Scarbrough, grandson, DeWayne Rushing, granddaughter, Traci Saucer, and great granddaughter, Morlynne Rushing. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nellie Johns Caldwell, sons Phillip Caldwell and his wife Charlotte, and W. A. Caldwell and his wife Barbara, daughters Evelyn Rigdon and her husband, Randy, and Lynn Saucer and her husband Rick. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kelly Brown, Amy Younger, Jennifer Caldwell, Jennifer Goodman, all of Columbus, MS, Tabatha Coker of Blue Springs, MS, and Brandi Caldwell of Birmingham, AL, and great grandchildren, Mary Grace Caldwell, Sarah Caldwell, Drew Brown, Karley Brown, Taylor Rushing, Zoe Goodman, Matt West, Cole Younger, Grace Younger, all of Columbus, MS, Trey Caldwell, Brady Caldwell, Leilah Caldwell, all of Birmingham, AL, Caleb Coker and Katie Coker of Blue Springs, MS, Mason and Tia Rushing of Smyrna, GA, and one great great granddaughter, Madison Rushing of Smyrna, GA. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Andy Caldwell, Andy Brown, Tommy Younger, Chris Goodman, Derrick Saucer, Marty Caldwell, and Kerry Coker. Honorary pallbearers will be all former employees of Caldwell Construction, members of Bud Lambert's Sunday School Class, Deacons of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Dr. John King, Dr. Robert Boland, Dr. Lauren Carlisle, Dr. Brett Brown, and Dr. Chris LeBrun. Memorials may be made to Mt.
