Mrs. Margaret Michie Hartley, 93, of Columbus, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Arbor Oaks Healthcare & Rehab in Malvern, AR. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2011 from 6:00 Pm to 8:00 Pm at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church with Revs. Sammy Crawford and Tommy Gillon officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. The daughter of the late George Newton and Allie Eulala Boyette Michie, Mrs. Hartley was born November 28, 1917 in Vaiden, MS. She was a graduate of Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse. She was employed at the old Columbus Hospital as the charge nurse for many years and also worked for the late Drs. H.H.H. McClanahan and Frank Baird. She was a charter member of Fairview Baptist Church and was a member of Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Senior Adult Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Hartley, her son Norman Lee Hartley, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughters Sue Hartley Rollins of Mobile, AL and Paulette Hartley Fowler (Dean) of Malvern, AR, grandsons Sam Rollins (Ginger) of Mobile, AL, Stephen Rollins of Camp Pendleton, CA and David Bailey (Karen) of Fordyce, AR and great grandchildren Jennifer and Justin Bailey. Pallbearers will be Sam Rollins, Stephen Rollins, David Bailey, Don Clardy, Bruce Hill and Charles Patrick.
