MARY SMITH Mary Hazel Smith, age 88, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 14, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Cemetery near Wiggins, MS, with Rev. Wayne Clegg officiating. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born December 4, 1923, in Coalfire, AL, to the late John L. and Dollie Trapp Clegg. She was of the Baptist faith and was the link that held the family together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Authur Smith, and a son, Dennis G. Smith. Survivors include her sons, Terry Smith of Columbus, MS, and Orville Wayne Smith of Wiggins, MS, grandson, Roger Smith, two grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
