Russel S. Kyle Russel S. Kyle age 56 died Sunday April 17, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be held Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church; burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 5 until 7 at the church, and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Russel was born in Cleveland, MS. He grew up in Ruleville, MS. and attended North Sunflower Academy where he played varsity football and baseball. In 1971, he moved to Columbus with his family and was a member of the first graduating class of Heritage Academy where he was voted Most Valuable Player in football and baseball. He received the athletic award in 1972. He graduated from Mississippi State University where he was an active member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He loved hunting and enjoyed hunting trips with his friends and with his son, Chris. He also loved traveling with his wife, Sarah, and with their friends. He loved his family and treasured his many friendships. He also loved his animals. Russel never met a stranger and always had a contagious smile on his face. He loved his Lord and Savior and proudly gave his witness and testimony. Russel had a love for life and valued each new day. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Sojourners Sunday School Class, North Mississippi Emmaus Community, Magowah Gun and Country Club, and Holiday Inn Breakfast Club. He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Benjamin Kyle, Sr., his brother, Wayne Kyle, and his niece Jennifer Slaughter. He is survived by his mother, Nell Kyle, his wife, Sarah Jane Doughty Kyle, his son, Chris Kyle, his daughters, Kate Kyle and Sarah Beth Artz (Barry " Long Beach, MS), his grandchildren Chloe and Lola Jane Artz, his brother, Benny Kyle (Linda), his sisters, Linda Kyle Slaughter (Arville " Houston, Tx), Darlene Kyle Shelton (Clyde " Madison, MS), his brothers-in-law, Richard Doughty (Vivian), George Edward Doughty, Tommy Doughty (Dawn), Joe Doughty (Cheryl), sister in law, Betty Kyle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Si Thomas, Rip Fowler, Bill Laws, Ronnie West, David McIntyre, Bryant Wiygul, Wythe Rhett, Carter Hutchins, David Shelton, Robbie DeHart Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Allen Yeilding, Dr. Micheal Coghlan, Dr. James Woodard, Dr. Steve Rawson, Dr. Jack Reed, Dr. Gerry Jeffcoat, Dr. Jerry Stennett, Dr. Chance Laws, Bill Montgomery, Glen Baldwin, Sam Pilkinton, Robert Rhett, Alonzo Phillips, Don DePriest, Tom Lavender In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church P.O.
