PHYLLIS BUNTON Phyllis Jane Montgomery Bunton, age 72, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 8, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Knox officiating. Visitation will also be Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Bunton was born July 26, 1938, in Grinnell, IA, to the late Paul Kasper and Alta Pearl Stainbrook Montgomery. She and her family moved to Columbus, MS, in 1972 and she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Bunton, son, George Paul Bunton, and daughter, Virginia Marguerite Bunton. Survivors include her sons, Steven Bunton and his wife Mary of Ardmore, OK, James Bunton and his wife Dorothy of Orlando, FL, and Cordell Bunton of Columbus, MS, brothers, Denney Montgomery, Gordy Montgomery, and Eugene Montgomery, sister, Linda Montgomery, grandchildren, Christina Lee Bunton, Jonathan Chase Bunton, and William Bunton, and step mother, Marion Montgomery.
