NATHAN DOBBS Nathan Baird Dobbs age 51 died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at his residence in Columbus. Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jamison officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2:00 until service time at the funeral home. Nathan was born on Friday, October 06, 1961 in Columbus, to Harold and Sally Rucker Dobbs. He was a very special person who was loved by all, an accomplished musician, historian, film maker, and naturalist. His life was devoted to music and historic preservation. He was a caring individual, who helped those in need, and had a deep seeded love for animals and farming. He was a professional plumber by trade. He was a Civil War re-enactor who pioneered the hobby in Mississippi. He rose to the rank of General and commanded the Mississippi Regiment at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1998, the largest event in re-enactment history. Nathan was a joy to know and had a heart of gold. He will be missed more that words can express.
