GARY W. THOMAS SR. Gary Wayne Thomas, Sr. Age 60 died December 21, 2006 at G.V. "Sonny" Mongomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS Services will be held at Broadacres United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Thomas and Rev. Ron McDougald Officiating burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery near Reform Alabama, with full military honors. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Mr. Thomas was born in Canton Ohio on January 10, 1946 to the late William Richard Thomas and Ruby Williams Swedenburg. He was a member of Broadacres United Methodist Church, an employee of Baldour Electric, and a retired U.S. Army Viet Nam War Veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father William Henry Swedenburg and one step-brother Alvin Swendenburg. survivors include: companion-Emily Garner of Columbus, Miss. Son-Gary Wayne Thomas, Jr. (Dawn) of Columbus, Miss. Daughter-Carrie Papai (Steve) of Oxford, Miss. Daughter-Amy Ditmore (Max) of Simpsonville, S.C. Daughter-Allison Guest (Keith) of Marietta, S.C. Brother-Ron Thomas (Ann) of Columbus, Miss. step-brother-Charles Swedenburg of Jackson, Miss. several grandchildren, nieces and nephews U.S. Army Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
