LALON CREWS Mrs. Lalon Yarbrough Crews, age 86, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 31, 2011, at The Windsor Place. Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Holmes officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamilton, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Crews was born October 28, 1924, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Finton and Maudie Newell Yarbrough. She retired from Seminole Manufacturing as a seamstress and was a long time member of Canaan Baptist Church. Mrs. Crews was currently attending the Caledonia Open Door Worship Center and, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Crews, Sr., and son, Cecil Ray Crews. Survivors include her sons, Donnie Crews and his wife Brenda of Steens, MS, and Willie B. Crews, Jr., and his wife Mary Ruth of Columbus, MS, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Grandsons and family members will serve as pallbearers.
