Helen Whitworth Odom, 87 ,of Columbus, MS died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday , May 12, 2009 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, with Dr. Shawn Parker, and Rev. Ron McDougald officiating. Mrs. Odom will be buried next to her husband, the late Billy M. Odom at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Pontotoc CIty Cemetery, in Pontotoc, Ms. Mrs. Odom was born on Sunday, July 24, 1921, in Pontotoc, MS to the late John Harvey and Gladys Tutor Whitworth. A longtime resident of Columbus, Mrs. Odom was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was also a member of Eloise Crossley's Sunday school class. She was also a member of Soroptomists International, Columbus Music Study Club and the Galaxy Garden Club. She retired from Mills-Morris Auto Parts, where she was the bookkeeper. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Hendon Whitworth and John H. Whitworth, Jr. and her husband, Billy M. Odom. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger O. McKay and her husband Billy of Cantonment, FL, granddaughter Jennifer Peavy and great grandson Aiden Chittipangna both of Watkinsville, GA . Pallbearers will be Dave Taylor, Bill Brigham, Bunk Harpole, Thomas Southerland, Steve Galloway, and Dean Green. Memorials can be made to Love In Deed, First Baptist Church P.O.
