Mrs. Mildred Glover Loftis, age 91, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her home in Columbus, MS. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with her nephew Rodney Glover officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held later at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus. One of six children of the late T. J. and Lillie Mae Brandon Glover, Mrs. Loftis was born October 29, 1921 in Columbus, MS. She was a graduate of Stephen D. Lee High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women. She was employed as a secretary for Choice Beverage Co. for several years. She also worked in the Chancery Clerks office under the late Morris Smith and in the Circuit Clerks office under the late Jack Wiggins. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Willie Tee Loftis, Jr. and her daughter Marisa Christiane Loftis Bruner, both of whom died in 2011. She was also predeceased by her siblings Elizabeth Glover Clarke, T. J. Glover, Jr., James B. Glover, Lillie Mae Glover Land and William P. Glover. Mrs. Loftis is survived by her son Eric Kenneth Glover of Columbus, her granddaughter Marisa Loftis Bruner of Starkville, MS and several nieces and nephews.
