Opal E. McCharen Age 87 died February 18, 2007 at her son's Residence in Houston, TX Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Bobby Douglas Officiating A graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at Thaxton Cemetery in Thaxton MS. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Mrs. McCharen was born on October 29, 1919 in Thaxton Mississippi to the late Robert Irby and Jettie Bevill Coward. She was a member of First Baptist Church Columbus and a retired employee of United Technologies. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul McCharen and one son Layne McCharen. Son-Robert M McCharen (Diane) of Houston, Texas Sister-Ethel S.
