Mary Chapman Parra Wiggins, 89, of Caledonia died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ron McDougald and Rev. Ben Butler officiating . Burial will follow at Rowan Cemetery, in Caledonia, MS. Mrs. Wiggins , daughter of the late Miguel Padial "Mike"Parra and Annie Mae Hodges Parra, was born on Friday, November 28, 1919, in Columbus, MS. She graduated from Caledonia High School and worked for Triple AAA/American Soil Conservation Service prior to her marriage to T.E. "Jack" Wiggins on September 16, 1942. She then became a homemaker, loving mother and faithful supporter of her husband during his many years of service as Circuit Clerk of Lowndes County. She also helped care for her parents and was a loving caregiver for her mother-in-law Lula Wiggins , who lived with them for many years. She was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews. Although she was homebound for the last twenty years , she kept in contact with her family and friends daily. She was a longtime member of Caledonia United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Jack Wiggins, brothers Miguel P. " Mike" Parra, Jr., William Edward "Cubby "Parra and Jack Parra and sisters Dr. Jean Ann Parra, Lola Mae Parra Robertson and Juanita Parra Reeves . She is survived by her son John Parra Wiggins of Caledonia, MS and a brother Samuel L. Parra of Columbus, Ms ; a host of nieces and nephews, special caregiver Sallie Wriley and special friend Bessie Butler. Pallbearers will be Robert Brock, Mickey Wiggins, Tommy Wiggins, Doug Wiggins, Carlos Salazar, Dale Parra and J.P. Robertson, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammy Parra, S. Dale Brown, Robert Lee Loftis, Lee Gallop, Allen Jones, Brad Freeman, Marty Holtman, Marty Pennington, Chris Harding, Joe Wiggins, Dr. Brad Brown, Dr. William Gillespie, Gary Holtman, Joe Barnes, Mike Shizak, Sue Patrick, Reba Vaughn, Tommy Vaughn, Henry Vaughn, Ben Kilgore, John Adams, Lucy Wilson, Billy Holley, James Reeves, Vance Shelley. and employees of Robert's Apothecary.
