Hilda Holland Bigmama Knight, 87, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle. Services will be Saturday, July 24, 10:00 am at Memorial Funeral Home, Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010, 5:00- 8:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home. Hilda was born July 12, 1923 in Laurel to the late Warner & Judith Holland. She was an active member of East End Baptist Church for many years, where she taught Sunday School and was a regular member of Training Union, WMU, Senior Choir, and led the GA's for several years. After East End moved, she joined Grace Baptist Church and had a new church family. She loved her church and family dearly. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Slick Knight; brother, W.E. Holland; and sister, Mary Alice Adams. She is survived by her children, Bill & Janice Knight of Huntsville, AL, Barbara & Robert Malone of Columbus, MS, Evelyn & Hank Houtman of Hampton, VA, Debbie & David Carpenter of Adamsville, TN, and Chip & Jennifer Knight of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Sherry & Jason Price of Huntsville, AL, Greg & Jennifer Fondren of Pickensville, AL, Robin & Harry Ross of Memphis, TN, Rob & Elizabeth Malone and Aimee & Kenneth Shaw of Columbus, Michelle & Mike Reed of Hamilton, AL, and Corban Knight, Carly Knight, and Hudson Knight of Memphis, TN; and great-grandchildren, Blake Day & Tyler Green, Dylan & Scott Fondren, Evan & Abigail Ross, Darby & Sam Malone, and Cole & Ross Reed. Pallbearers will be Greg Fondren, Rob Malone, Kenneth Shaw, Mike Reed, Harry Ross & Evan Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Duckworth, Dr. Barton Williams, friends of Grace Baptist Church, and the ladies of the Fidelis Sunday School Class at East End Baptist Church.
