Medora Eldredge Black, age 72, of Columbus, MS, died May 4, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. A memorial service will be Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. P. J. Mortensen officiating and Memorial Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Black was born February 14, 1938, in Columbus, MS, to the late William Augustus and Medora Dortch Eldredge. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and was a former member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Black loved the outdoors and loved to paint, sing, fish, and ride horseback. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Bill, Henry L. and Hugh B. Eldredge. Survivors include her husband, William M. Black of Columbus, son, William M. "Mack" Black, Jr., of Columbus, daughters, Deelene Medora Causey of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Mary Adelia Savage of Atlanta, GA, brothers, Stewart Eldredge of Titusville, FL, and James Eldredge of Avondale, GA, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
