Mrs. Bertha Beard Taylor, age 87, of Cordova, TN, formerly of Columbus, MS died December 31, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, TN. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bob Dunivan officiating. The daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Kemp Beard, Mrs. Taylor was born December 17, 1924 in Columbus. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and retired from Beneke Corporation in 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Veron Carl Taylor, who died in 2003, and her son Larry Carl Taylor, who died in 1978. Mrs. Taylor moved to Cordova shortly after her husbands death to live with her daughter. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter Margaret T. Hardy of Cordova, TN, her son G. Phillip Taylor of Decatur, AL, her four grandchildren, Stephanie Lindsey(Michael), Chris Taylor (Katie), Michael Phillip Taylor and John Hardy, and her three great grandchildren, Taylor and Skylar Lindsey and Alex Taylor and former daughter-in-law Pam Taylor. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law Louie Taylor of Columbus and Jim Crosby of Clarksville, TN, nephews George Beard and Bobby Beard and numerous Taylor nieces and nephews.
