Mildred Williams "Jean" Oswalt, 80, of Ethelsville, AL died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at her home in Ethelsville, AL Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Mel Howton officiating. Burial will be at Ethelsville Baptist Church Cemetery, in Ethelsville, AL The daughter of the late Elmer Stuart and Oralee Hall Williams, Mrs. Oswalt was born July 10, 1928 in Gordo, Al and graduated from New Hope High School. She was a longtime member of Ethelsville Baptist Church. She was employed as a telephone operator for Southern Bell in Columbus for 14 years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Hubert Williams. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Heyward Cecil Oswalt of Ethelsville, AL; sons Jerry Franks( Nancy) of Columbus, MS, Kenny Oswalt of Ethelsville, AL and Randy Oswalt and sister-in-law Betty Williams both of Steens, MS. She is also survived by her grandchildren K.C. Oswalt, Angela Jean Sparks (Randy), Marleigh and Abigal Oswalt and great grandchildren Nathan, Randall and Patrick Sparks. Pallbearers will be Randy Sparks, K.C. Oswalt, Larry E. Jaynes, Danny Malone, Roger Schultz, Jordy Howton, William Lejeune and Tim Roberts.
