Nelda B. Bailey Age 96 died February 17, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 3:00 PM with the Very Rev. James F.Carlyle, Rector Officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday one hour prior to service. The daughter of the late Peter James and Mabel Evans Brown, Mrs. Bailey was born October 20, 1911 in Pittsburgh, Pa. She graduated from Muskingham College in New Concord, OH with a degree in Speech and Drama and later received advanced degrees. A longtime resident of Columbus, she and her late husband Stephen E. Bailey were charter members of the Greater Columbus Kennel Club. She was instrumental in getting a special education program established in the Columbus Schools. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Daughters of the King, the Retired Officers Wives' Club, and Friends of the Library. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Stephen E. Bailey. Survivors include: Daughter-Bonita L. Cobb of Saint Petersburg, Fla. Daughter-Kathy Lou Friend of Prestonsburg, Ky. Grandson-Michael Edward Cobb of St. Petersburg, Fla. Granddaughter-Stephanie Kay Tarry of Colorado Springs, Colo. Great Granddaughter-Nikki Cobb; Niece-Lynn Brown, Grreensburg, Pa.
