Mary Gladys Leggett Lancaster, age 97, died December 5, 2008 at Trinity HealthCare in Columbus. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation was Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Ron McDougal officiating. Mrs. Lancaster was born September 1, 1911 in Drew, Ms to the late Thomas L. and Ethel Laura Finley Leggett. A longtime Columbus resident, she retired in 1977 from Seminole Manufacturing after 40 years of employment. She had also been a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Belle Moses, and four brothers, Billy, Milburn, Louis and James Leggett. She is survived by her son William Victor Lancaster (June) of Columbus, MS., a brother-Thomas L. Leggett, Jr. of Flagstaff, AZ, sisters-Bertha Pinnix of Vaiden, MS and Sue Raines of Memphis, TN, and one ganddaughter-Vicki McCommon (John) of Columbus, MS .
