Starkville, Ms -Dupree "Duck/Ace" Ward, 66, died April 19, 2006 at his residence in Starkville, Ms. Dupree was born on July 2, 1939 in Vernon, AL to the late: John Winston and Tivie Lee Lollar Ward. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, a Mason and a retired engineer and conductor for the Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was also the secretary/treasure for the United Transportation Union and served as local chairman for 28 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Linda Orr and one brother John D. Ward. Funeral services will be Friday April 21, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Crawford. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time at Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife: Nancy Carolyn Ledlow, Daughter: Sherry Mitchell (Robert) of Meridian, Ms, Son: Tracy Ward (Deborah) of Starkville, Ms, 5 Grandchildren: Wes, Eli, and Shea Ward, Brandee Mask, and Heather Jewett, a number of nieces and nephews, 8 Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Wanda B.Montgomery of Columbus, Ms, and Peggy Fromn of Dallas, Tx and Brother: Steve Ward of Columbus, Ms. Pallbearers will be Wes Ward, Eli Ward, Jesse Roberts, Walter Bryant, Walter Blanton, and Robert Mitchell.
