HELEN ATKINS Helen Louise Atkins age 84 died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Beam-Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Vaughn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Atkins was born on Thursday, June 09, 1927 in Columbus to the late Thomas S. and Ellen Chappell Hodges. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was active in the Methodist Womens Circle. She was a retired Data Processor at American Bosch (now United Technologies)in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Ellena Jane Hixon Survivors include: Her Husband: Roy Lee Atkins of Columbus, MS Three Daughters: Dorothy Threadgill, Maben, MS; Royce Ann Butler, Columbus, MS; Mary Wood, Columbus, MS One Son: Sam Atkins (Karen), Jackson, MS Two Sisters: Rebecca Roach, Marietta, GA Dorothy Hodges, Columbus, MS Two Brothers: Thomas S. Hodges, Jr., Columbus, MS James E.
