Frances Brooks McCann Columbus Mississippi - Frances Brooks McCann 84 died May 27, 2006 at Trinity Healthcare,Columbus MS. Mrs. McCann was born on November 15, 1921 in Tuscola Mississippi to the late Herbert H. and Lena Denson Brooks. She was a member of Columbus First Baptist Church. She attended East Central Junior College in Decatur MS then worked for the Commerce Department in Washington D.C. during WWII. She lived in Texs for many years and worked for American National Insurance Co. for 9 years and the University of Texas Medical Branch for 9 years. After moving to Columbus she worked in the office of Ruth's for 18 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Everette F. McCann Sr., and her brothers James Herbert and Joe B. Brooks.. Graveside services will be Wednesday May 31, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Harris Cemetery in Carthage MS with the Rev. Paul McDonald officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Wilcox Funeral Home Carthage at Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include Daughters: Mary F. Wilson of Bossier City LA, Stella Ann Sweeny (Jay) of McAllen TX, Madeline Carol Wells (Mike) of Houston TX, Son: Everette F. McCann Jr. (Jo Ann) of Texas City TX, 5 Grandchildren: 1 great-nephew- Jeff Brooks, 1 aunt- Doris Burchette, 1 uncle- R.H. Young and a host of cousins several Great Grandchildren.
