Margaret Sanderfer Lollar, age 87, of Austin, TX, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Park Bend Health Center in Austin, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2008. Her funeral service will be held in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2008, with Rev. Curtis Bray officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbus, MS. The daughter of the late William B. and Lillie Sanderfer, Mrs. Lollar was born June 20, 1922 in Lowndes County, MS and was a 1937 graduate of S.D. Lee High School in Columbus. She married the love of her life, Larry (L. A.) Lollar on June 6, 1942. She was employed with Egger's Department Store and later with the Commercial Dispatch while her husband was away during World War II. They moved to Tuscaloosa after he returned and in 1952, they moved to San Angelo, TX. Margaret had a very successful career with Steve Stewart Real Estate as a real estate agent and then a broker. In 1980, they moved to Austin to be near their children. She enjoyed gardening , and her yards were always full of beautiful flowering plants. Margaret and Larry loved to dance and were members of several San Angelo social clubs. She was very active in her community and in her two children's many school activities. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Larry Lollar, who died June 17, 1991, two brothers Johnny and Samuel Sanderfer and her sister Ellen Shelton. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Beth and John Steelman, her son, Lynn Lollar and grandson Jonathan Lollar, all of Austin, Texas Pallbearers will be Lee Roy Lollar, Larry Shelton, George Weir, and David Ashmore.
