TED JUTMAN Theodore R. Ted Jutman age 93 died Saturday May 16, 2009 at The Homeplace in Columbus. Visitation will be held Sunday May 17, 2009 from 4 until 6 at Memorial Funeral Home716 2nd Ave North in Columbus. Graveside services will be held AT 1:00 P.M. Monday May 18, 2009 at Plantersville Cemetery in Plantersville, MS. A gathering for family and friends will follow the service at the home of Jean Jutman in Plantersville. Mr. Jutman was born on April 8, 1916 in Pittston, PA to the late Andrew and Mary Jutman. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1945. In 1945 he moved to Mississippi and was employed by Southern Airways and later General Tire and Rubber Company. He was a communicant of Annunciation Catholic Church. He volunteered at The Greater Columbus Learning Center and enjoyed reading, golfing, gardening, feeding the birds, and watching Jeopardy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Partlow Jutman, his former mother-in-law Granny Miss Dena Partlow, three sisters Mrs. Robert (Mary) Scheideman, Mrs. Raymond (Elizabeth) Sims, Mrs. Michael (Ella) Merlini and one brother, Andy Jutman. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Frances Spruill Jutman of Columbus, his daughter Jean Jutman of Plantersville, MS, his step-daugher Carol Toyama (Nate) and three grandchildren Aaron, Bess, and Lucy Toyama of Sacramento, CA. His niece Doris Yager of Utica, NY. He leaves a host of other nieces and nephews, the descendants of the Rusty Yager and Herman and G.C. Partlow families, and two special friends Al and Mary Clarke of Pittston, PA. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Catholic School 223 N. Browder St. Columbus, MS 39702 or to the donors church or charity of choice.
