EARLIE SANDERS Earlie Lee Sanders Age 89 died May 16, 2009 at The Windsor Place Nursing & Rehab Center in Columbus, MS Graveside services will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 1:00 PM With Pastor Ron Thomas Officiating Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Mr. Sanders was born on December 11, 1919 in Greenwood Springs, MS to the late Henry Grady and Trudie Ray Sanders. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific, and a charter member of the VFW Post #4272 in Columbus. He was a retired salesman for the Russell Wholesale Grocery Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years Lois McBride Sanders and his brother Howard Sanders. Survivors include: Sons -Earl "Sandy" Sanders (Donna) of Jackson, Miss. -Mike Sanders (Sylvia) of Hattiesburg, Miss. Daughter -Melanie Roe (Glenn) of Biloxi, Miss. Sisters -Mrs. O.A. "Sue" McArthur of Columbus, Miss. Mrs. A.J. "Ruby" Bowie of Holly Springs, Miss. Grandchildren -Lisa Whisenant (Scott) -Angela Davis (Todd) -Michael Sanders -Elizabeth Sanders -Marshall Price -John Kellum (Jennifer) -Kristopher Kellum -Lauren Alston -Heather Roe 7-great grandchildren 1-Nephew 4-nieces former wife -Mildred Sanders Mr. Sanders family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of The Windsor Place Nursing Home and Rehab.
