Jane Kochititzky Quin

Mrs. Jane Kochititzky Quin, age 91, of Columbus, MS., died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at her home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm in the Earline Robertson Room at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The funeral service will be at 4:00pm at St. Paul's with the Rev. Father James Carlyle, Rector of St. Paul's officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Daughter of the late Otto and Julia Morse Kochititzky, Mrs. Quin was born September 22, 1916 in St. Louis, Mo. She attended MSCW and graduated with a BS degree in Education from the University of Missouri, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Social Fraternity. Mrs. Quin had lived in Columbus since 1934 and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a charter member and past president of the Earline Robertson Guild, and served as Treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of the Columbus Junior Auxiliary, Hugenot Society, Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America, and served on the board of the S.D. Lee Foundation as Treasurer. She was also a charter member of the Matt Morton Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She served on the Board of the Southern Debutante Assembly in Greenwood, Ms for a number of years . She retired from McCrary-West Construction as Secretary/Bookkeeper in 1990. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Paul Quin. Mrs. Quin is survived by her daughter, Jennie Quin Szaltis (Ray) of Jacksonville, Fl., and her son Wade Byers Quin (Janie) of Madison, Ms. , her brother, Dr. Morse Kochititzky of Nashville, Tn and her sister Julia Wade Kochititzky Franklin (Ike) of Columbus and four grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne West, Hank Gunter, Bill Land, Jay McCrary, Bill Rosamond, John C. Hardy, Bill Evans and Rod Kochititzky and Ned New. Memorial may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 318 College St., Columbus, ms 39701 or the charity of your choice.
