Robert Grady Fuqua, age 76, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle. Service were held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Shawn Parker, officiating. Visitation was held at First Baptist Church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Mr. Fuqua was born March 31, 1932 in Columbus to the late Henry Grady and Louise Kirby Fuqua. He was a graduate of S.D. Lee Senior High, and he attended Rutgers University and Miss. State University He was employed by Lowndes County Sheriffs' Dept. as a Bailiff. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church, he was also a Life Deacon and a member of Dr. Perrin Smith's Sunday School Class. Mr. Fuqua also held memberships in the Lions Cub, Gideons International - Columbus North Camp, North Ms Emmaus Community, and Oddfellows Lodge#35. He is survived by his wife Frances Rausch Fuqua of Columbus, MS and his daughter Cathy Fuqua Harrell(Mike) of Fort Worth, Texas The Pallbearers were Forrest Allgood, Sam Bray, Bill Brigham, Frank Creel, Joe King, and Steve McEwen Honorary Pallbearers were the Bailiffs, Lowndes County Sheriffs' Dept., Deacons of First Baptist Church, Dr. Perrin Smith's Sunday School Class, and Gideons' International Memorials can be made to Gideons International Columbus-North Camp P.O.
