Ms. Virginia P. Robert died Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Martins In The Pines Retirement Home in Birmingham , Ala. She died from natural causes. Visitation will be conducted at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus Wednesday, April 29 between the hours of 6 p.m and 8 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery next to her husband, Paul Robert, who preceded her in death in 1970. She was born and raised in Memphis, Tenn. , and later worked for more than 30 years in Columbus, Miss. as the office manager for Dr. William C. Sanders. She is survived by her son Greg Robert of Birmingham, Ala., her daughter Susan Lindley of New Orleans, La., her brother Tom Grissom of Charlotte, N.C., her sister Amanda Herstoff of Memphis, Tenn., her granddaughter Virginia Ginny Lindley of Columbus, Miss., and her grandson Daniel Robert of Birmingham, Ala.
