Robert L. Stockman, 55, of Columbus died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle. Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of his arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM . A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date. Born March 13, 1956 in Columbus, he was the son of the late James Stockman, Jr. and Elive Cantrell Stockman. He returned to Columbus from Chesterfield, IL in 1986 and was employed by Colunbus Brick for a number of years. At he time of his death, he had been working for Sobley Excavating as a heavy equipment operator for the last seven years. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister Patricia Ann Nolan and a brother James Earl Stockman. He is survived by his wife Linnie C. Stockman and his mother Elive C. Stockman, both of Columbus, sons Robert Lewis Stockman, Jr.(Sherry) of Eupora, MS, Clarence Stockman(Dawn) of Columbus, Jeremy Abbott(Deicy) of Orlando, FL and Robert McGee of MO, daughters Amy Louise McGee of MO, and Jessica Haynes of Columbus. He is also survived by brothers Bill Stockman of Aurora, IL and Glenn Stockman of Cincinnati, OH, sister Peggy Kessner of Aurora, IL, eight grandchildren and twenty nieces and nephews.
