Hollis Hansel "Billy" Guest, age 80, of Columbus, Miss., died Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, Miss. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Memorial Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, October 7, 2007. The funeral service will be at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM Monday, October 8, 2007 , with Rev. James Gardner officiating. Interment , with full military honors, will follow at Memorial Gardens in Columbus, Miss. He was one of thirteen children born to the late William Thomas and the late Vicie Louisiana Naron Guest in Monroe County, Ms on April 29, 1927. Mr. Guest served in the Army during Workd War II, and then enlisted in the Air Force, serving some of his active duty time here at Columbus Air Force base. Later he enlisted n the Ms Army National Guard, serving in Battery A, 2D/114 FA in Columbus, from which he finally retired. He was employed as a truck driver by ET & T Trucking for over 30 years, carrying the U.S. mail to Jackson, Grenada and Memphis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lera Olean, who died September 12, 2007; four sisters, Clytee Ray, Bessie Callahan, Irene Nash, andMaude Davis; four brothers, Granville, Howard, Irvin and Bill Guest; a step-daughter, Nellie Mae Vernon and a grandson, James L.McKee. He is survived by his two daughters Virginia Ann Fulgham (Carl) of Columbus, MS, and ; Barbara Gail Guest ; one son, Hansel Wayne Guest of Columbus, Mss two step-daughters Carolyn Faye Angle of Amory, Ms and Betty Paul of Ft. Worth, TX ; one sister, Annie Lou Sizemore of Amory, MS ; one brother Douglas Guest of Phoeba, MS ; three grandaughters, Regina Allen, Lisa Rogers and Heather Marie Curry; 4 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
