Esther Russell Sartin, age 87, of Baton Rouge, La., died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Sherwood Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge, La. Visitation will be held Friday morning May 16, 2008 at 9:30am at Memorial Funeral Home, with services to follow in the chapel of Memorial at 11:00am with Rev. Jeff James officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Sartin was born in Decatur, Alabama on July 14, 1920 to the late William and Leeby Brown Russell. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and lived most of her adult life in Columbus. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Malvin P. Sartin. She is survived by her daughter Valerie S. Creehan (Don) of Baton Rouge, La., her son Paul Alan Sartin of Anaheim, Ca., two Sisters, Jean Bremmer of hattiesburg, Ms and Judy DiStefano of Omaha, Ne , and three grand- children, Brittany and Derek Creehan and Paul A. Sartin, Jr.
