Barbara Lawrence Duhon Church, 72, of Columbus, MS died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at her home in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Robert Dore, Celebrant. Visitation in the churchs Atrium will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The daughter of the late Aymar and Mae Goldric Vallot Duhon, Mrs. Church was born January 20, 1938 in Youngville, LA. She had been a resident of Columbus since moving here with her husband, the late Billie E. Church, in 1964. She was a communicant of Annunciation Catholic Church and was active in several womens Bible study classes. She graduated from MSCW, now Mississippi Women University for Women, in 1984. A retired Registered Nurse, she worked for over twenty years in the Health Care field at Oktibbeha County Hospital, the Lowndes County Health Department and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. She was an avid reader and generously donated to and supported various charitable causes. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Terry Allen Duhon, two grandchildren Jason Wingo and Jessica Church and her husband Billie E. Church, who died April 13, 2010. She is survived by daughters Deborah (Richard) Kidder of Columbus; Cynthia (Lindsey) Primm of Spring Lake, NC and sons William (Anita) Church of Poplar Bluff, MO; David(Clare) Church of Los Angeles, CA; and Kevin Church of Oklahoma City, OK; brother-in-law Melvin (Charlene) Church and sister-in-law Lila (Billy Joe) Lauderdale, all of Booneville, MS. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren Christopher Sarris, Michael (Lindsey) Church, Nick (Jennifer) Church, Amanda Church, Tiffany (Sam) Evans, Tiffany (Terry) Boykin, Blake (Kayla) Church, Michelle (Kurtis) Allen, Mason Church, Kevin Church, Jr., and Caitlyn Church and 2 step grandchildren Phillip and Jesse Schuler. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren Haley Church, Taylor Marie Sarris, Makayla Church, Evelyn Boykin, Cameron Tyler Boykin, Madison Grace Boykin, Sarah Church, Gabriel Church, Maia Evans, and Kiera Church. The Pallbearers will be members of her family. Memorials may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church Building Fund, 823 College Street, Columbus, MS 39701.
