WILLIAM L. BUTLER William L. Butler, age 68, of Vernon, AL, passed away December 7, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Gardner officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation is also Saturday, December 10, 2011, from noon until 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Butler was born March 27, 1943, in Columbus, MS, to the late Carter and Carrie Hallman Butler. He worked for many years as a dairy farmer and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Wooten Butler. Survivors include his son, William David Butler of Douglasville, AL, daughters, Betty Sue Delk of Columbus, MS, Elaine Perrigin of Ozark, AL, and Rose Ann Turner and her husband Morris of Columbus, MS, sister, Virginia Parker of Attalla, AL, brother, Linwood Butler of Attalla, AL, nephew, David Morris and his wife Annette of Vernon, AL, grandchildren, Cooper Butler, Olivia Butler, Lee Ann Morris, Jerry Lynn Morris, and Cody Morris, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Morris Turner, Wilbert Chambliss, Daniel Parker, Jay Pendergraf, Casey Chambliss, and Linwood Cook.
