Lois J. Forrester died January 24, 2013, at the age of 83. She was born in Oklahoma on November 7, 1929, to Gladys G. (Flesher) and Morris M. Jones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert E. (Dick) Forrester, whom she married in 1947. Together they raised four daughters who survive them: Jeanne Forrester Vosburgh (Tom) of Albuquerque, NM (children Emily and Jeffrey); Janet McCarra (Dwight) of Quitman, MS; Joy Presley (Richard) of Pinson, AL (children: Tommy, Rob (Ashli), and Chrissy (Scott); and Judy Cater (Kenneth) of Wiggins, MS (children: K.C. and Kaleb and Jim Davis (Sherine). There are also surviving adopted grandchildren, Emily McGriff and Wade Richardson (mother Betty Richardson). Lois has one surviving sibling, Wanda J. Jones (Jim Ensign) of San Francisco, CA. Lois lived most of her life in Columbus, MS, and was an S.D. Lee High School graduate. A founding member of Antioch Baptist Church (along with her husband), she faithfully taught womens Sunday School classes for 65 years. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26th, from 11 a.m. until noon with a private family graveside service to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
